Mary Jane, but my friends call me MJ

I'm a sucker for our new puppy, MJ.  If she asked for a toy car I would totally cave and get one for her but most of the time she just ask for treats and she gets it.  Although, she wasn't always well behaved or in our good graces.  Puppy training has taught us not only patience but being stern when it's time to say no and being extra loving when she is obedient.  

Our first week with her, she started in a crate and after we would come home from work/ school we'd find her sitting around her mess and it just seemed horrible.  So then we became crazy dog people and built her an indoor paradise in our second room.  When we would leave for work, she would watch Netflix until I came back during my lunch break and take her out and leave some music on for her to nap to. Once we came home; it was kitchen time.  This was NOT our favorite because sitting on the hard kitchen floor for 5 hours made us cranky, tired and sore.  (Not to mention waking up at 6am every day to take her outside and spend time with her before the day started.)  Unfortunately, she goes to the bathroom every 5-10 minutes that there was no choice but to be confined to the tiny tiled space. 

Eventually, she starting catching on that good things earned treats and naughty things were ignored (i.e barking, going potty in the wrong places, chewing on the furniture).  Ethan and I love her but she can be quite the handful! 

As you can see from the pictures, she's graduated to carpet time.  She's learning that the bell on the door ... can get her a treat after she "goes" outside.  She runs around under the table and through the chairs like an obstacle course.  Her favorite spot it on the window ledge which is accessible by climbing up the bean bag and carefully stepping on the ledge.  She watches the cars drive by and the wind blow through the tree next to our window.
