Kansas - week one!

Hey family!

We made it to Kansas! Ethan powered through the 18 hour drive and it was a long but fun journey out here.   We're always going to remember the nice people we met on the road.   

When we stopped in Cheyenne to fill up, we pulled into a smaller stall in the middle.  It was the most crowded gas station on our way out.  Before we left Ethan had me stand outside and guide him (missionary style).  While he was explaining what to do, a nice cowboy walked over and asked "what way ya' headin?"   We motioned to the right and he said "hop in, I'll guide ya'!"  He gets two thumbs up in our book! 

Topeka is a beautiful place! I LOVE the trees out here and the big fields and wide open spaces.  We also love our little home and the neighborhood.  While we were moving in, our next door neighbor was also bringing some boxes in from his car.  He's an older gentleman and he offered to help Ethan move our larger pieces of furniture in.  He got chatting with Ethan and said "we're bringing our stuff over tomorrow.  My wife, she's a Mormon and the church is moving us in!"  Ethan mentioned that we are also members to which he excitedly replied "NO WAY! My wife is going to be so happy.  Wait till she meets you!" He shared his excitement over and over again as did we. 

I'm very excited to be Kansas and its already been such a great beginning! We love our ward and we are super grateful to have family nearby!! Ethan found the pet store in the mall and I'm positive that will be the frequent "study break" spot.  :)  The weather is hot and humid! Two things we love but will be an adjustment for us.  

Lots has happened in just one week but we have SO so much to be grateful for! We could not have done it without all of our family!   Seriously.  So blessed! My heart is overfilled with gratitude.   I can't even express in words how blessed we feel to have family! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! <3
